The trio of Irish Footballers at Glasgow Celtic suffered a major setback in their hopes of clinching the Scottish Premier League title. The Hoops suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Glasgow rivals Rangers at Ibrox.

Northern Ireland’s Steven Davis scored the only goal of the game in the closing moments of the first half.

Aiden McGeady was surprisingly left out of the Celtic starting eleven – eventually arriving from the bench just after the hour. Willo Flood was an unused substitute while Darren O’Dea played the first 81 minutes of the game.

Despite being in control of the Scottish top flight for much of the season, Celtic now look set to finish second behind Rangers and a failure this season could prompt a massive overhaul at the Parkhead club. Already, McGeady and O’Dea have been linked with moves away from Glasgow.
