Speaking to the Sunderland Echo, Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy has spoken of his disappointment at being left out of Giovanni Trapattoni’s most recent squad.

Murphy had hoped to continue his run of being at least included in squads for games but seems more disappointed at the actual manner in which he found out.

Speaking to the paper he said, “I know they’re not obliged to speak to us when we’re not selected, but communication is a big thing and it would have been nice to get a quick call. As it was, the first I knew was when the squad was announced in the papers and on the telly.”
