Following a mixed week of preparations for the Irish squad, manager Giovanni Trapattoni received a massive boost today when Aiden McGeady was passed fit to play in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier with Bulgaria at Croke Park.

Having missed training all week, McGeady took a full part in today’s training session in Malahide and now is now set to start on Saturday.
